ASAPWe’re blessed to be able to offer our facilities to the Adoption Support and Preservation (ASAP) program of West Tennessee. They will be meeting every second Monday evening of the month from 6:00 to 7:30. The meetings are open to the public, and anyone from All Saints interested in learning more or even volunteering can attend. Here’s a little bit more about ASAP from Mallory Morris.

======

The Adoption Support and Preservation is a pre- and post-adoptive program across the state of TN. It is a grant-funded program through DCS under the umbrella of Catholic Charities of Middle and West TN. Since its beginning in 2004, ASAP’s goal is to serve pre-adoptive families transitioning into permanency as well as adoptive families by preserving adoptions through in-home counseling by a master’s level trained therapist. The goal is to preserve adoptions and the adoption process as well as to support children and families while they navigate building a relationship together despite a traumatic history.

ASAP also provides family support groups. When Catholic Charities began to oversee the West TN and Shelby Co areas two years ago, only one support group existed in the Memphis area. Due to the growth in Jackson and the surrounding counties, ASAP has decided to begin a support group again in this area. With the support of All Saints Anglican Church, we hope to create an avenue for these adoptive families to build a community of support. Our goal is to meet once a month beginning in September to discuss a variety of topics and use activities to provide support and education for families.

ASAP is extremely grateful for the support of All Saints and we are very excited to begin this process to strengthen an adoptive community. We cannot thank you enough! To learn more about ASAP visit www.tnasap.org.
