Each year the entire church gathers for a parish meeting to reflect upon what God has done in the previous year and anticipate the next. This meeting includes the presentation of the 2017 budget, the election of new vestry members, and the annual parish report for 2016. This year, because of two services in the morning, we will meet on Sunday, January 22 at 6:00 p.m. and frame our time together with Evening Prayer.

As it pertains to the vestry members, according to the bylaws of our church, members of the vestry serve a term of two years. Each year, those outgoing members of the vestry serve as the Nominating Committee for new members to be elected at the Annual Parish Meeting. After receiving recommendations from the parish, the Committee, chaired by Judy Rose, submits the following candidates for election.

Vestry Nominees for 2017

Janet Brown is married to Tom Brown and is the mother of three sons and grandmother to three. Janet and Tom were confirmed at All Saints in 2015. She is a retired R.N., who worked in many areas of medicine from New Born Nursery to Hospice. She loves to read and hates to exercise, but does it anyway. Her favorite ministry at All Saints is serving and praying at JACOA, Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency.

Grace Ann House is married to Ben House and is a founding member of All Saints. She has three grown children: Mike is a lawyer in West Memphis, married to Tebrah, a teacher, and they have two children (Chloe and Heath); Kathy is a nurse in Nashville married to Brian who works in commercial real estate, and they have two children (Anna Kate and Zac); and Karen is a nurse at Jackson General married to Chris who is an agent with Shelter Insurance, and they have four children (Madeline, Jake, Claudia and Emma). Grace Ann is originally from Arkansas and, painfully at times, follows the Razorbacks. She loves traveling, gardening, reading, and the gym.

Kim Howerton is married to Leslie Creasy and they have two children, Grace (14) and Zach (10). In 2011, the family joined All Saints Anglican Church. Since joining, the family has been active with youth and children’s ministries. They love the worship at All Saints involves every member, regardless of age. Kim, a native West Tennessean, is a Family Physician who is in solo practice in Jackson. She feels that being a physician is a ministry. She also serves on several state medical committees and commissions. If not seeing patients, Kim is probably at the ballfield or gym. She enjoys watching her children play softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, and cross country. Kim also loves spending time with her family, running, preparing healthy meals, and vacationing.

David Thomas is husband to Nan Thomas, father to Stephen, Spencer, and Rachel, father-in-law to Ashley and (soon) Joy, and grandfather to Addie. He and Nan love the worship, the prayerful vitality, and the community at All Saints. They were confirmed in November 2014. David has been a history professor at Union University for twenty-plus years, is deeply invested in his students, and is always learning something. He builds the occasional piece of furniture, is writing his second book, and longs to hike the Grand Canyon.
