Sunday Service Teams

It takes a sizable crew of joyful, service-minded folks to make our Sunday services run smoothly each week. We are always looking to broaden our volunteer base so everyone can get in on the fun! We encourage both members and regular attendees to serve regularly in one or more of our Sunday ministries.

Ways to Serve

Acolytes

Our Acolytes (ages 12 and up) and Child Acolytes (ages 8–11) carry the processional cross and assist the clergy around the altar.

Altar Guild

Our Altar Guild members, led by Marty Courcelle, Judy Rose, and Stephanie Traylor, prepare the elements and vessels for Communion before the service and then clean everything up after the service.

Catechist Assistants

Our Catechist Assistants come alongside our trained Catechists to serve our children in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd during Formation Hour.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Our volunteers in Children’s Liturgy of the Word lead our children ages 4–7 in worship between the Gospel Reading and Communion.

Choir

Our Choir meets every Tuesday at 7:00 pm for rehearsal and helps to lead the singing in our services.

Intercessors

Our trained Intercessors offer prayers for people in need during Communion.

Flower Guild

Our Flower Guild members, led by Sally Slack, help decorate the church for special services and ensures that flowers are provided for each Sunday.

Hospitality Team

Our Hospitality Team, led by Celeste Pope, helps provide coffee and refreshments for services each Sunday as well as special events.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Our Lay Eucharistic Ministers, trained to assist the clergy, help distribute Holy Communion to the congregation each Sunday and ensure the sacrament is offered reverently.

Nursery

Our trained Nursery workers care for children from infancy to age 3 during both Formation Hour and our Sunday service.

Sound Technicians

Our Sound Techs run the soundboard for our audio needs each Sunday.

Ushers & Greeters

Our Ushers and Greeters serve a key role in welcoming people to the service, handing out bulletins, and cueing rows for Communion.
