Giving as an act of Worship

Giving as an act of Worship

At All Saints, generosity is part of our shared calling. Giving is not just a practical necessity—it’s a sacred act of worship. Every gift helps us proclaim the gospel, disciple believers, serve the poor, and sustain a place for our church family to gather and grow.

Whether you give weekly, monthly, or occasionally, your support fuels our mission and our future.

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

Pledge-based budgeting

Pledge-based budgeting

Most churches have their leadership determine each year’s financial budget and then ask the people of the church to give to that budget. We instead ask our people to prayerfully make financial pledges for the upcoming year and then the leadership works within that total amount to form next year’s budget. This approach takes seriously that the Spirit of God is among the people of God, leading them to make these key financial decisions.

The Capital Fund

The Capital Fund

As we continue to pay down the building loans from the construction of our new Nave, we invite our church family to consider giving above and beyond their annual pledge to support our capital fund. Every gift beyond our operating budget goes directly toward reducing this debt, helping to free up future resources for ministry and mission. This is more than financial stewardship — it’s an investment in the long-term vitality of our church as we seek to share more fully in the life of God, for the life of the world.

Ways to Give

However you choose to give, we are deeply grateful for your support. Together, your gifts sustain our worship, care for our community, and extend God’s kingdom. Thank you! đź™Ź

Frequently Asked Questions

Rather than setting a budget and asking people to give to it, we ask parishioners to prayerfully pledge what they intend to give. Then the vestry builds a budget based on what has been pledged. This approach reflects our trust that the Spirit of God is at work in the hearts of His people, guiding our life together.

Once all pledges are received, the vestry uses that information to shape a realistic, faithful budget for the upcoming year. This ensures that we live within our means and steward our resources responsibly.

October – Pledge forms are sent out

Late November – Pledge Ingathering Sunday

December – Vestry reviews pledges and adjusts the budget accordingly

Late December – Vestry approves a final budget based on total pledges

We understand that life is unpredictable, and there may be seasons when you fall short of—or go beyond—what you originally pledged. Pledges are not binding, and you’re always welcome to contact the church office if your circumstances change significantly. That said, we ask that you make your pledge thoughtfully and realistically, with the intention of fulfilling it, since our annual budget is shaped around the total amount pledged.

We realize that not everyone feels comfortable making a financial pledge in advance for the upcoming year. While no one is required to give according to this system, please keep in mind that the amount of our annual budget is not based on non-pledge giving.

The Old Testament model of the tithe (10% of one’s income) provides an appropriate starting point for believers today, who, according to the New Testament, should give regularly, generously, sacrificially, and joyfully. Whatever your current level of giving, be sure to make it a matter of family conversation and prayer, always recalling the words of the Lord Jesus, who himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

Zero. We encourage everyone to pledge their full tithe to our operating budget so that our ongoing ministries will not be hindered. Then, if you so choose to give above and beyond your regular tithe, consider making an additional pledge toward the Mission Abbey for the upcoming year, which is currently going toward paying off our loans.
