The Ackers’ Photographs Now on Display

Hopefully you have all had a chance to see the recent renovations to the Parish Hall, which have opened up new office space for ASIS and our soon-to-be resident. While the building has taken on new life, the walls have felt more than a little bare.

Thanks to Terry and Beverly Acker, that’s beginning to change.

The Ackers have gifted our parish five of their stunning photographs, now on display in the lobby of the Parish Hall. We hope you’ll take a moment to see them for yourself.

Each image captures an abandoned church set against the wide landscape of the Great Plains. Once places of lively worship, these buildings are now worn by the elements and weathered by time. Each one tells a story of life, loss, and enduring beauty. Together, they remind us that even as buildings fade, the story of God’s work among his people is not so easily lost.

We encourage you to stop by and spend some time with these images. Each photograph includes a QR code that shares the story behind it.

You can also explore more of the Ackers’ photography and storytelling here.

We are so grateful to Terry and Beverly for sharing this meaningful gift with our parish.
