The Latest in Community Engagement at All Saints – June 2026

For the Life of the World
June 2026
At All Saints, one of the ways we seek to “share in the life of God, for the life of the world” is by building meaningful relationships with our neighbors and partnering with organizations already doing good work throughout Jackson. Here are a few ways our parish has been engaged in the community this month.
A Week in the RIFA Soup Kitchen
In April, more than 20 parishioners from All Saints spent a week serving lunch in RIFA’s Soup Kitchen. Throughout the week, parishioners prepared plates, shared meals, listened to stories, and spent time with neighbors in our community.
“We sat, I got a plate,
and we had lunch
together. He told me his
story and we prayed
together... it was the
loveliest of experiences.”
-Sheila Williamson after a
conversation in the Soup Kitchen
We are grateful for our partnership with RIFA and the opportunity to serve alongside them. Our next week serving in the Soup Kitchen will be September 21–25.
Loving our Neighborhood Schools
This May, we had the opportunity to show our appreciation to teachers and staff at two local elementary schools.
For our PIE Partner, Isaac Lane Elementary, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week by delivering iced lattes, pastries, and a banner signed by members of the parish. It was a small way to thank the teachers and staff for the care and dedication they give to our community’s children every day.
We also delivered snacks and treats to teachers at Pope School. Pope has faced a particularly difficult year, and we wanted the faculty and staff to know that they are seen, cared for, and appreciated by their neighbors at All Saints.
Let's Talk about It!
This spring, we launched a series of conversations called “Let’s Talk About It” designed to help us engage difficult topics with humility and curiosity.
So far, we’ve had two sessions, the first on Poverty and Dignity and the second on Mental Health and the Church. In these discussions, we grappled with our assumptions and biases, heard from local practitioners, and considered how the Church can faithfully respond to these complex realities facing our community.
Our next “Let’s Talk About It” will be on June 9th at 7 a.m. and will focus on Education and Opportunity.

Benevolence: Meeting Needs with Wisdom and Compassion
Over the past several months, the Outreach Committee has been working to strengthen and clarify how All Saints responds to community needs and assistance requests.
As part of this work, a portion of our undesignated outreach budget has been intentionally earmarked for benevolence ministry. These funds will allow us to respond to emergency assistance requests from community members. Already, these funds have provided emergency housing, transportation, and other resources for individuals in need.
Alongside financial support, we are developing clearer policies and processes to help steward these funds wisely. Our hope is to respond to immediate needs in ways that foster dignity and create meaningful relationships.
Update on The Diaper Project
Over the past two years, The Diaper Project has become one small but meaningful way for us to live out our mission and connect with our neighbors.
After our last scheduled distribution day on June 4, we will take a temporary pause as we work to secure additional funding for the future of the ministry. We hope you will join us in praying for God to give us wisdom and direction as we discern the way forward for this ministry and the families who participate.
Get More Involved
One of our hopes for Community Engagement at All Saints is to cultivate deep, long-term relationships with the organizations already making an impact. One of the primary ways we hope to do this is by building teams of parishioners who want to be more intentionally connected to specific outreach partners.
We know that many of you have passions, gifts, and experiences that align with the work these partners are doing, and we want to help connect you with opportunities to use those gifts in meaningful and ways.
