An Invitation to a New Economy

The Kingdom of God is here and it’s coming, and it is changing everything. That’s what happens when heavenly realities descend upon earthly ones. Everything changes. Our relationships, our priorities, our ambitions—even our economy! 

No, the Kingdom of God has yet to replace the Economy of this World, but as the church lives out the teachings of Jesus when it comes to our finances, a new economy emerges within the old—a new way to view and use our money, to save and spend it, and a new way to give and receive. And as followers of Jesus, we are invited to participate in this new economy right now.

For our annual stewardship season, we will be exploring what it means to participate in this new economy that Jesus offers us. We will learn how the upside-down nature of this economy changes our focus, calms our anxieties, deepens our relationships with others, and brings us joy. 

You are invited to join us over the next few Sundays for this exploration. Furthermore, be on the lookout! All members and regular attenders will receive a stewardship packet in the mail with more information about this series as well as pledge forms that will help us create next year’s budget. Please fill out and return your forms by Sunday, November 23.
