Using the Book of Common Prayer

Contemplative Prayer for Christians with Chronic Worry

This group will utilizing the workbook by Joshua Knabb and Thomas Frederick with the same title. The group’s aim is to explore ways to lessen daily worries through contemplative prayer. Relying on scriptural support, the contemplative Christian tradition, and psychological science, group members will learn to sit in silence with God, trusting in Him during moments of uncertainty, worry, and anxiety. Ignatian prayer, the Jesus prayer, centering prayer, and welcoming prayer are a few of the prayer formats that we will learn and practice together.
