On Wednesday, October 23 at 6:00 p.m., we will offer a special Evening Prayer service that will include the rite for the admission of a Benedictine Novice Oblate for our very own Jim Cope. This service will mark the beginning of Jim’s journey toward becoming an oblate in the Order of St. Benedict.

An oblate is an individual, either lay or clergy, normally living in general society, who, while not a professed monk or nun, has individually affiliated himself or herself with a monastic community of their choice. Fr. Ross and Kathy Guthrie, as well as Barbara Reed, are Benedictine Oblates.

Jim will be working toward becoming an oblate through the Priory of St. Patrick in Nashville, TN. Representatives from the Priory will be present for the service. Please make arrangements to show your support of Jim in this worthwhile pursuit.
