JACOA banquet web

The Holy Spirit is moving at JACOA, which stands for the Jackson Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency. JACOA works to provide the highest quality of care to those who are suffering from substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health disorders in an environment that preserves and promotes the dignity of each client.

Over the last year, All Saints has been getting more and more involved with this ministry. Fr. Wes, Nita Mehr, and Robin Salyers are each now members of JACOA’s board. Megan Pinson works there part-time as a nurse. Each Wednesday afternoon, different members of All Saints, led by Janet Brown, offer prayer and Recovery Bibles to anyone who wants them. And in light of this involvement, our Outreach Committee even added JACOA to our annual outreach budget.

You can get involved with JACOA too! Here are a few ways you can offer your support.

  • Attend Banquet. JACOA is hosting a banquet on Thursday, March 9 at Northside Methodist and is bringing in former Major League Baseball player Darryl Strawberry as their speaker. You can sign up to attend on Sundays in the foyer.
  • Purchase Recovery Bibles. On Sunday, February 26, you will have the opportunity to purchase a Recovery Bible for $15 and write a note of prayer and encouragement on the inside cover that will be given to someone at JACOA.
