Stewardship 2014

What is stewardship but an invitation to partner with the God of heaven and earth in his transforming work of world renewal. Think about that: God himself is beckoning you to join him, to give yourself to the healing of the world.

And it gets better. God has fashioned you to partner with him like no one else can. He has formed you with a distinct set of abilities, connected you to a particular group of people, and led you to this exact time and place so that you might play a niche role in his kingdom movement. Your job, your relational networks, your background, your quirky hobbies and passions—they all combine into a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make an impact on the world like nobody else.

Indeed, even our church as a whole is fascinatingly unique, especially tailored for the needs of our community at this particular moment. When we offer everything we are and everything we have to God’s purposes, then we had better watch out! God will multiply; God will bless; God will heal another part of his broken creation like no other church could.

Yes, stewardship is a glorious and wonderful invitation to get into the game. How, then, will you participate?
