Did you know that nearly one in every six persons within the United States is an immigrant? With nearly 43 million immigrants in our country, All Saints has recently discovered a unique opportunity to serve and minster to this vulnerable population in the Jackson area.

In partnership with the ACNA’s Immigrant Initiative and the U. S. Department of Justice, we are exploring the possibility of starting a Legal Aid Clinic to serve immigrants in West Tennessee. This center would serve the legal needs of immigrants in the West Tennessee area as there are no low-cost resources available for this population between Memphis and Nashville.

After I shared my immigration story at the Swanson’s home on May 12, Lynn Binkley expressed her interest in joining me in receiving the required training to make this ministry a reality. During the first week of June, Lynn and I will attend an Immigration Law Training conference in San Antonio, Texas to pursue the next steps of establishing a legal aid center.

Please be in prayer for us as we travel and learn how we can practically help those in our community navigate a complicated process. If you are interested in more information, please let Lynn or me know and we will be happy to provide updates and share ways All Saints can be involved.
