The Walk for Life is
Saturday, September 25, 2010
All Saints will try to better its own record from last year in its support of Birth Choice, one of our Outreach projects. We ranked 4th among 36 Jackson churches in the amount of money raised. Father Chuck ranked 4th and Charles Richards ranked 7th among all walkers in the amount of money raised.
Sign-up sheets for All Saints walkers will be available Sunday, August 29th. Walkers obtain pledges from supporters for finishing the 2-mile easy walk. If it rains, bring your umbrella.
If you cannot walk on the 25th, you may complete your walk another day on your own.
If you cannot walk at all, you can always make a pledge to support one of All Saints walkers. No amount is too small. The number of contributions is important. There are free T-shirts for any walker who raises $250 or more.
The walk begins at 9:00 a.m. at Birth Choice, 391 Wallace Road.
If you have any questions please see Gretchen Filiatreau or call her at 668-9382. Judy Rose is a Birth Choice counselor and can give you great insight into this wonderful work.
Additional information: Birth Choice works with almost 700 women and girls (some younger than 12) each year. Services include:
- Free pregnancy tests and free ultra sounds
- Counseling in parental responsibility and training from pregnancy through toddler age
- Adoption counseling and information on the side effects and trauma of abortion
- Maternity clothes and baby clothes up to 24 months and baby furniture
- A sexual health and abstinence program
- Mercy Ministry, a post–abortion recovery program with a Bible study led by women who have experienced an abortion
