JTermweb

Each of our J-Term Pastorates is geared toward starting the New Year off on the right foot, and they will meet for four straight Wednesday evenings beginning January 14. A Pastorate is a small group of people who meet in homes, share a meal, study God’s Word, and pray and care for one another. Nursery and children’s activities will be available at the church. Email Fr. Wes if you'd like to sign up for one of the following.

Living Well
Chad & Liz Coley at the home of Rich and Debbi Wagner
As the New Year approaches, far too many folks make resolutions that address only one facet of life. But as God’s image bearers, we are created so that our whole self would be lived as an act of worship—mind, body, and spirit. We house the Holy Spirit; we are God’s temple! Come explore the concept of Living Well: nurturing a healthy mind, body, and spirit in the midst of our busy lives, so that we may be faithful to offer our whole selves to God as a living sacrifice.

Family Pastorate
Fr. Brian Larsen Wells at All Saints Anglican Church
If you’re a parent who feels like you never have time to share a meal with your family, then this Pastorate is for you! The Pastorate will cater dinner for your family, allow time for prayer and worship with your children, and offer opportunities to dialogue with other parents. Though this is a fellowship-centered Pastorate rather than a study-centered one, each meeting will include a biblical lesson for your children while you will learn about and discuss ways to better disciple your children.

Spiritual Preparation for Lent
Gary & Celecia Osborne at the home of Billy and Sally Slack
To enhance and enrich your Lenten season, this Pastorate aims to prepare you to find through Lent a more meaningful relationship with God the Father through Jesus the Son. Lent is a time of penitence and spiritual renewal. Incorporating the four themes of Lent will hopefully create a spiritual foundation upon which the Easter celebration of the Resurrection will be anchored deep within your soul.

For the Sake of the World
Fr. Wes & Abbie Gristy at the home of Mike and Sandra Burtt
Have you ever wondered what your salvation is actually for? In this Pastorate we will discover that our calling to be “in the world and not of it” actually means that we’re supposed to be for it. Start the year off by exploring how we as Christians can live for the sake of the world with the help of a series of short and creative films that will help to jumpstart our biblically informed discussion each week (watch a video teaser at LettersToTheExiles.com).
